From New York Times bestselling author Julia Quinn comes the second novel in the beloved Regency-set world of her charming, powerful Bridgerton family, now a series created by Shonda Rhimes for Netflix.

1814 promises to be another eventful season, but not, This Author believes, for Anthony Bridgerton, London's most elusive bachelor, who has shown no indication that he plans to marry. And in all truth, why should he? When it comes to playing the consummate rake, nobody does it better...                          --Lady Whistledown's Society Papers, April 1814

But this time the gossip columnists have it wrong. Anthony Bridgerton hasn't just decided to marry--he's even chosen a wife! The only obstacle is his intended's older sister, Kate Sheffield--the most meddlesome woman ever to grace a London ballroom. The spirited schemer is driving Anthony mad with her determination to stop the betrothal, but when he closes his eyes at night, Kate's the woman haunting his increasingly erotic dreams...

Contrary to popular belief, Kate is quite sure that reformed rakes do not make the best husbands--and Anthony Bridgerton is the most wicked rogue of them all. Kate's determined to protect her sister--but she fears her own heart is vulnerable. And when Anthony's lips touch hers, she's suddenly afraid she might not be able to resist the reprehensible rake herself...

This novel includes the 2nd epilogue, a peek at the story after the story.

  • Thoroughly enjoyed!

I have to say that I have never smiled and laughed so much through a romance novel as I did with this book. It really isn’t a quality I thought I needed. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it’s an easy read, I finished it in just under 2 days. However that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have some depth to it. The writing is done well and I lost myself in the moment on more than one occasion. The author does a great job in conveying emotions and really building the world around the characters. It may not be a huge fantasy world, but I think it does justice to England life in the 1800s all the same. ( not that I am an expert, so I don’t actually know, but that’s the fun thing about imagination.) I’m starting the third book and I cannot wait!
  • Loved it!

  • Fun, but....

A little formulaic. But fun! A few eye popping moments. Diving into the next one.
  • The best in the series!

Such an amazing read! Wish I could read it again after just finished it! I think I may, it is sooo good!
  • Best book in the entire Bridgerton series!!

I’ve read the entire series, and the Viscount Who Loved Me is the gem and best book of all! Kate is the ideal heroine and Anthony the ideal hero, and together, these characters are a match made in heaven. Kate is the best written character and female lead in the entire series, and the love-hate relationship between her and the Viscount is like Pride & Prejudice all over again. A true gem that I can read over and over. After this book, An Offer from a Gentleman (the Cinderella story) and Romancing Mr. Bridgerton are a close second and third favorite.
  • Great read, humor times 100

Great book! Love the games, humor, and accidental romance!
